24 January 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back in the City at Tattersalls Folk and Roots at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 9th February 2023 with the support of the Australian Governments Live Music Australia as well as the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and City of Perth. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Kerry B Ryan and Turning Left. Kerry B Ryan is a blues guitarist who has been running regular blues shows in Perth and whose music has been getting airplay across Australia and airplay in the USA. Turning Left is a blues trio of established Perth musicians including Gordon German on guitar and vocals, Steve Prescott on bass and David Knox on drums.
27 November 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back in central Perth with the Tattersalls Folk and Roots series at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 12th December 2024 Perth Tattersalls Bowling Club supported by City of Perth and Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Natalie D Napoleon Trio & Greg Dear. Natalie D-Napoleon is originally from Fremantle and is a singer-songwriter and poet who returned home after spending over a decade in Santa Barbara, California. Her last album You Wanted To Be The Shore But Instead You Were The Sea reached No. 1 on the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) Independent Chart. Greg Dear is a guitarist and songwriter who has a long history in the Perth music scene who is recognised for his contribution to Australian music. Since the 80s he has released singles and albums both solo and with bands Holy Rollers, Beautiful Losers, and Butterfly Collection.

27 November 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with the Tattersalls Folk and Roots series at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 14th December 2023 with the support of the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and City of Perth. Perth Folk and Roots Club is also working with Act Belong Commit in recognition of music’s contribution to mental wellbeing. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has the Western Suntones and Catherine Traicos. Events are free and meals are available through Plain Street Kitchen. The Western Suntones were formed in 2009 in Fremantle and are a country/blues roots based alt country Americana band currently playing in and around Perth WA. Catherine Traicos is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter who has graced venues including Nashville's iconic Bluebird Cafe, The Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, the Quarry Amphitheatre in Perth and the Junkyard in Maitland.
8 February 2023: Due to Covid, the Dave Graney and Clare Moore launch of their new album ‘In A Mistly’ at the Lyric's Underground, Basement, 22 Lyric Lane, Maylands on Friday 10th February 2023 has been postponed. For those who have booked tickets for $33.70 online at Oztix: https://www.oztix.com.au/ we hope to be able to reschedule the show for a date in May 2023. Ticket holders who are happy to await for information on the rescheduled date can await news on new dates for their tickets. If you seek a refund this is also an option. At the moment, we have set a nominal event date for next year until we have an agreed new date which we will notify ticket holders once it is known.
14 October 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with Steve Tallis and Moondog at the Inglewood Bowling & Sports club on Sunday 27th October 2024 for a show with free music entertainment with the support of the City of Stirling through its Community Grants Program and the support of Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. Steve Tallis is back in Perth from Paris, France launching his new album "Memory Ghost". Steve is Western Australia’s self proclaimed blues shaman who has been performing and recording since the 1960’s and is a major figure in the Perth blues scene. Moondog is a Perth hills band that plays folk, indie, blues, ragtime, country and bluegrass, Jug band songs and some originals who have been around in various guises some 20 years playing local festivals and markets.
2 July 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back in central Perth at Tattersalls Folk and Roots at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 11th July 2024 with the renewed support of the City of Perth through their Local Activation Grant and the continued support of Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Martin Lee Cropper and Lötti’s Potion. Events are free and meals are available through The Plain Street Kitchen, the in-house caterer who will be providing meals for the event. Martin Lee Cropper is a hill country blues musician originally from the hills south of Bridgetown. Martin has a love of 1920's & 30's country blues and is active playing around Western Australia including recent shows for Caves House Hotel, Margaret River Brewhouse, and the Albany Boatshed Markets. Lötti’s Potion features Suzie Thompson on vocals and ukulele, Erik Kowarski on violin, and John Perry on double bass and the band’s repertoire include some traditional arrangements of blues and swing songs as well as their own original songs.
15 November 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 24th November 2024 for a show with free music entertainment with the support of the City of Stirling and the support of Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. Perth Folk and Roots Club is also working with Act Belong Commit in recognition of music’s contribution to mental wellbeing. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Gabriele Campani and the Jukes. Gabriele Campani is a solo performer and combo artist from Europe. He's an acoustic guitar player, singer, composer and arranger with more than 30 years of professional experience, with a repertoire of blues, jazz, folk, European and American popular tunes, and original compositions. The Jukes are a three piece rock and roll band with Steve Toyne on guitar and vocals, Roger Fletcher on bass and backing vocals and Trevor Osborne on drums.
2 April 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club continues with the Tattersalls Folk and Roots series at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 11th April 2024 with the support of the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and City of Perth. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Blues Confusion and Midnight Francine. Blues ConFusion was formed in 2013 after Phil Bourgault (guitars and song writer) met Debs Gill (vocals) at the Hills Blues Club. They have recorded and released two albums and an EP and their music is available on most online music streaming services. Midnight Francine is a dedicated storyteller who writes songs of love, tragedy and longing with an honesty that is both beautiful and compelling. In 2019 Midnight Francine won best Female Artist at the Lancelin Buskers Festival.

The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Barham, Wilson and Smallman (BWS) and Donna Iverson supported by Kate Jensen. Events are free and meals are available through catering provided by Plain Street Kitchen. Barham, Wilson and Smallman (BWS) are a folk and country blues trio, with a long history in the Perth music scene. Jeff Barham played with Howie Smallman in the late 70s’/early eighties in the Jaywalkers and John Wilson played with Howie in the mid eighties in Dave Hole and the Hellraisers. Donna Iverson is a singer songwriter who is focused on melodically rich storytelling and acoustic folk rock musings.
15 July 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 28th July 2024 for a show with free music entertainment with the support of Masonic Care and Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. This event is sponsored by Masonic Care who are great supporters of Perth Folk and Roots Club. Perth Folk and Roots Club is also working with Act Belong Commit in recognition of music’s contribution to mental wellbeing. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley which is an hour later than usual to accommodate the Inglewood Bowling Club Carnival. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Front Porch Serenaders and Paul Davies. Front Porch Serenaders are a folk and country blues trio, who have a long history of playing great music in the Perth music scene. They have previously played at Perth Folk and Roots Club as well as at Perth Blues Club, Fire in Your Belly and the Australia Hotel. Paul Davies is an authentic, hard travelling musician who travels across regional Western Australia playing a huge range of shows and festivals. Pulling fluid blues patterns from his ageing Gibson guitars, Paul plays a range of old time blues to folk and ragtime along with traditional country blues.
30 January 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club continues into 2024 with the Tattersalls Folk and Roots series at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 8th February 2024 with the support of the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and City of Perth. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Matt Cal and the Sway acoustic duet. Matt Cal is a hard-working Western Australian folk and roots singer and guitarist who has already achieved multiple nominations for Western Australian Song of the Year and a win in the Blues and Roots category in 2011 with his track Overdrive. Marina and Aaron Powell make up Sway, an acoustic duet writing and performing their own original music and classic covers of ballads. They have been playing professionally around Perth for many years and both completed qualifications at the WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
2 July 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club starts a new financial year at Tattersalls Folk and Roots on Thursday 13th July 2023 with City of Perth providing new support in 2023 through their Local Activation Grant fund. Thank you City of Perth. The performances are from 6 - 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth and feature No Mountain Band and Paul Davies. No Mountain Band are a 5 piece bluegrass/folk group with a heart steeped in swamp, punk and gospel with members having graced the stages of Byron Bay Blues and Glastonbury festivals. Paul Davies is an authentic, hard travelling musician playing a range of old time blues to folk and ragtime along with traditional country blues in regional areas and across Perth including Gypsy Tapas House in Fremantle as well as the Moondyne Festival in Toodyay.
29 November 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 15th December 2024 for an Xmas show with free music entertainment with the support of the City of Stirling and the support of Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Turning Left and Catherine Traicos. Turning Left is a blues trio of established Perth musicians including Gordon German on guitar and vocals, Steve Prescott on bass and they are joined by special guest Sam Marchello on drums. They will be performing in honour and memory of their drummer Dave Knox who is no longer with us and will be playing songs from their latest recording “Backyard Blues”. Catherine Traicos is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter who has graced venues including Nashville's iconic Bluebird Cafe, The Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, the Quarry Amphitheatre in Perth and the Junkyard in Maitland.
1 October 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back in central Perth with the Tattersalls Folk and Roots series at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 10th October 2024 with the support of City of Perth and Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth and entrance is free. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Jook Joint Band and Ange Leech. Jook Joint Band began as a jug band and have evolved into Americana. They play at a range of bars and Clubs around Perth including The National Hotel, Swallow Bar and the Perth Blues Club and have also played festivals, including Blues at Bridgetown and Fairbridge Festival. Songwriter and guitarist Ange Leech performs ragtime blues and folk and was featured as a songwriter on the 2016 WAM Songs of the Goldfields and has opened for Eskimo Joe (2016), Killing Heidi (2017) and Drew Goddard (2022) at the Goldfields Art Centre, and most recently Adam Grant and Bradley Hall at the 2023 Coolgardie Rodeo.
13 May 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with Fiona Heath and The Rattlin' Bones at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 25th June 2023 with free music with the support of Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. Fiona Heath originally from New Zealand brings expressive original songs influenced by jazz and soul. She is a crowd favourite of Perth Folk and Roots Club and is not to be missed. The Rattlin' Bones are a new original new music duo featuring Derek Lee Goodreid's soulful vocals and rockin' guitar and Leon Pratt's thumpin' upright bass. Derek Lee Goodreid is a rock/blues artist originating from Perth who has lived and played in Norway.
30 October 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back in central Perth with the Tattersalls Folk and Roots series at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 14th November 2024 with a special show to celebrate WA Seniors Week with support from COTA WA and the Department of Communities. Tattersalls Folk and Roots is also supported by City of Perth and Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Izzy and The Calaveras. Izzy is an acoustic guitarist with a love of the songwriting talents of Bob Dylan. The Calaveras are a four piece rock band that play 70's rock standards bringing together aged experience with talented youth with Conor McNamee on guitar and keyboard, Cormac McNamee on guitar and vocals, Kevin Trevor on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Paul Homewood on drums.
18 August 2022: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 28th August 2022 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Donna Iverson supported by Kate Jensen and Espresso. Donna Iverson is a singer songwriter who has performed in the sell-out Perth Fringe Festival “Brothers and Sisters” which featured the music from the soundtrack “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” and has also presented a series of solo shows at venues such as Defectors Bar in Mt Lawley, Choo Choos Bar, Swan Hotel (Fremantle) and the North Fremantle Bowling Club. Espresso feature Fran Irwin on acoustic guitar and vocals, Pat Irwin on lead guitar and harmonies, Steve Byrne on bass and Glenn Fitzpatrick on percussion mixing blues/country rock & folk/indie, with rich vocal harmonies, tasteful guitar leads & solid cajon rhythm. They play at local festivals such as Gidgestock and the Guildford Songfest and wine and food venues including the Gypsy Tapas in Fremantle and the Cork and Bottle in Bassendean.

Events are free and meals are available through Plain Street Kitchen. Tony Shergold and John Howard as a duet play blues rock and country. Tony Shergold is a top Perth guitarist and singer/songwriter who has played with some of Perths finest bands including The Sheds, The Hot Biscuit Band (Rick Steele) and his own band Off Grid. John Howard is a Perth based singer, songwriter and guitarist who plays regularly as a soloist or in a duo (BeatsWorkin). The Calaveras are a four piece rock band bringing together aged experience with talented youth with Conor McNamee on guitar and keyboard, Cormac McNamee on guitar and vocals, Kevin Trevor on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Paul Homewood on drums.

The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Kyra Bee and the Illegals and John Talati. Kyra Bee and the Illegals are a five piece hills based outfit who were the winners of the Blues Challenge heat and runner up in the International Blues Challenge competition held at the Bridgetown Blues Festival. John Talati is a singer/songwriter who has played the Perth scene for many years including with Adele in a duet as a singer/guitarist/harmonica player and as a bass played in bands including The Rick Steele band, Indigo Duck and the Lovebites.
14 January 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back in 2024 at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 28th January 2024 for a show with a touch of Ireland in its free music entertainment with the support of City of Stirling and Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. Perth Folk and Roots Club is also working with Act Belong Commit in recognition of music’s contribution to mental wellbeing. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Richie Power from Ireland and Company of Wolves. Richie Power is a Singer/Songwriter from the town of Dungarvan in County Waterford, Ireland who performs originals in the traditional Irish folk music style and has toured across the US, Australia, Germany and Ireland. Company of Wolves are a four piece Perth Hills band creating their own original style of indi blues music as well as playing covers their way.
2 May 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at Tattersalls Folk and Roots at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 9th May 2024 with the support of the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Buck Edwards from Melbourne and Catherine Wheels. Buck Edwards is a singer songwriter and driving force behind Melbourne’s alt country act Paper Jane. He was shortlisted for best regional act in the 2022 Music Vic Awards and heralded amongst the best of 2022 by the International Americana Music Show (New York). The Catherine Wheels are an acoustic trio, consisting of two well known Perth female vocalists, Cathy Mueller and Catherine Cary and Robert Thorpe on guitar and banjo playing alternative country songs. Catherine Wheels have had some radio play on RTRFM.

13 June 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 23rd June 2024 for a free music show with Masonic Care, City of Stirling and Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club support. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Donna and the Gems doing an EP launch with the support of the Little Lord Street Band Duo. Donna Iverson is a singer songwriter with melodically rich storytelling and acoustic folk who performed in the sell-out Perth Fringe Festival “Brothers and Sisters” and also performed in a number of bands in the late 90s in Melbourne performing regular gigs in St.Kilda, Fitzroy and Collingwood. Little Lord Street Band as a duo are a Perth alt-country/folk outfit who are winners at the Boyup Brook Country Music awards, been crowned ‘Best Country Act’ three years straight at the West Australian Music Industry Awards and have supported major touring acts like Gomez (UK) and Justin Townes Earle (USA).

For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Green Herring with a CD launch and Tea and Whisky. Green Herring are a trio that plays mainly in the South West of WA and are high energy, low voltage folk music influenced by blues, bluegrass, and country with a concern for the environment. Green Herring is made up of Irma Lachmund, Lee Goodall (both mandolin, guitar) and Andy Hardy (double bass). They have just recorded their first CD ‘In Hot Waters’ featuring 13 originals in the folk and bluegrass styles. Tea & Whisky are an acoustic folk-jazz-blues duo with Alex Hey, AKA Alex-the-cellist, and Raelene Bruinsma, singer/songwriter/storyteller/vocal teacher and community choir director.

Dilip Parekh is an Indian Irishman from Fremantle who is a singer/songwriter that has established himself as one of Western Australia’s finest songwriters. Dilip is also widely known as the front man for high energy band - Dilip n the Davs. Silva Dee is a hard working musician who has been performing solo and in many bands nationally and internationally including the Freo Grasshoppers from 2007. Events are free and meals are available through Plain Street Kitchen.

13 May 2023: Tattersalls Folk and Roots will feature Juke Joint Band and Pas Serafino at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 8th June 2023 with Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and the Australian Governments Live Music Australia support. The performances are from 6 - 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. Jook Joint Band is a jug band at heart and they have been wowing audiences with old time blues, skiffle and ragtime music for more than ten years. Pas has been involved with performing music over many years playing solo and in bands over many years, including the Road Orchestra, PTO, Jook Joint Band, Bootleg Al and Beats’Workin.
17 September 2022: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with Steve Tallis and Catherine Wheels at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 25th September 2022 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. Steve Tallis has recently returned from performing in Paris, France. Steve is Western Australia’s self-proclaimed blues shaman who has been performing and recording since the 1960’s and is a major figure in the Perth blues scene. The Catherine Wheels are an acoustic trio, consisting of two well known Perth female vocalists, Cathy Mueller and Catherine Cary and Robert Thorpe on guitar and banjo who have been playing at a number of venues including the Market Bar in Fremantle and Lyrics Lane in Maylands as well as some radio play on RTRFM.
16 March 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club good weather rolls on at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 24th March 2024 for a show with free music entertainment with the support of the City of Stirling and Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. Perth Folk and Roots Club is also working with Act Belong Commit in recognition of music’s contribution to mental wellbeing. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Kerry B Ryan and The Retro Junkies. Kerry B Ryan is a blues guitarist, born in North Queensland and now living in the hills outside Perth WA. Kerry has been running regular blues shows in Perth including at Ellington’s Jazz Club. The Retro Junkies are a Perth rock and blues band which have been playing various venues around Perth for the past three years with a following of people who love to dance to classic rock/blues songs.
18 September 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 29th September 2024 for a show with free music entertainment with renewed support of the City of Stirling through its Community Grants Program in 2024/2025 and the support of Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. Perth Folk and Roots Club is also working with Act Belong Commit in recognition of music’s contribution to mental wellbeing. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has String & Bone and Daisy Cotton & Dylan Brown. String and Bone is a trio using an eclectic collection of musical instruments and styles producing an unlikely yet engagingly unique sound featuring Tim Darby, a prolific song writer, shortlisted for WAM and ASA Song of The Year. Daisy Cotton is a country musician from Bowen in Queensland. In November 2023, Daisy released her debut Country Album, Wildfires & Daisies.
27 July 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at Tattersalls Folk and Roots at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 10th August 2023 with the support of the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and the City of Perth. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has blues band Turning Left and Gabriele Campani. Turning Left is a blues trio of established Perth musicians including Gordon German on guitar, Steve Prescott on bass and David Knox on drums. They have scored a chart topping song with ‘The Lines are Down’ on the N1M local blues charts. Gabriele Campani is a solo performer and combo artist from Europe. He's an acoustic guitar player, singer, composer and arranger with a repertoire of blues, jazz, folk, European and American popular tunes, and original compositions. Events are free and meals are available through catering provided by Plain Street Kitchen.

This event features Ram Shackle Blues and Beyond and Dilip Parekh. Ram Shackle Blues and Beyond are the guitarists Tony Shergold and John Howard who share a love of blues, blues rock and country rock. They perform blues classics with a large helping of classic Chicago blues. Dilip Parekh is an Indian Irishman from Fremantle who is a singer/songwriter that has established himself as one of Western Australia’s finest songwriters. Dilip is also widely known as the front man for high energy band - Dilip n the Davs.

Kavisha Mazzella AM is a Melbourne based ARIA award winning singer songwriter who does not believe in world music. It's just music!!! She is a winner of various awards including the 1998 ARIA for her album Fisherman's Daughter. Silver Hook Tango was Nominated for an ARIA in 2004. Kavisha received the Italia Nel Mondo Award in 2000 for her contribution to the sharing of Italian Culture in Australia and won the West Australia Music Industry award for songwriting. In 2011 Kavisha was awarded an Australia Day Honour for her contribution to music and serving the community. Kavisha has performed as a singer songwriter in Australia, Canada, Ireland, USA, Hungary, Slovenia, New Caledonia, Singapore, China, Malaysia and Italy.

Neil Fernandes was a guitarist and singer songwriter with the Manikins, one of the biggest bands in Perth in the late 70s and early 80’s. The Manikins and their previous incarnations at different times featured such Australian musical luminaries as Dave Faulkner (The Hoodoo Gurus) and Kim Salmon (The Scientists). John Talati is a singer/songwriter who has played the Perth scene for many years and together with Adele he has found a duet to bring together sweet harmonies and energy filled acoustic music. John performances in bands include The Rick Steele band, Indigo Duck and the Lovebites.
29 November 2022: Perth Folk and Roots Club AGM noted income during 2021/2022 of $18,590 with Australian Governments Live Music Australia, City of Perth, City of Stirling, Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, Tattersalls Bowling Club and Masonic Care being supporters. The Committee was re-elected with Keith Anthonisz, President, Peter Birch, Vice President, Mark Cooper as Secretary and Steve Warner Jones as Treasurer.

Graney and Moore are well known for their time with Dave Graney with the Coral Snakes. Dave Graney and Clare Moore have made 45 albums together and are now launching ‘In a Mistly’ in Perth.
29 November 2024: The Perth Folk and Roots Club House Band will be playing in the afternoon in the gardens of the Ellis House Art Centre - Art Gallery Christmas Market on Sunday 8 December between 1pm and 3pm at 116 Milne Street, Bayswater. Ellis House was built in the early 1900s and its beautiful gardens will be hosting the Christmas Market as well as the Perth Folk and Roots Club House Band. The Blue City Wailers play Chicago inspired blues from the Perth area newly formed with homegrown members and players from New Zealand and England playing gritty authentic covers and originals.

Bev Abela plays a blend of blues and country rock along with original and contemporary songs and has released an album in 2020 called Heartfelt which received airplay in Australia as well as international critical acclaim including plays Hillzfm and Abbey Radio in the UK. The Snake Charmers are a Midland based rock and roll band that play a range of choice covers and some originals and play in Maylands, Midland and Bayswater.

JemClak is a duet of virtuoso guitar and drums with Clarence Bailey and Jeremy Boyd featuring an eclectic repertoire with influences from John Martyn, James Taylor and Chris Smithers to Bonnie Rait, Stevie Wonder and The Police. Izzy plays laid back acoustic roots music with a picking style reminiscent of Greenwhich Village folk music and is inspired by Mississippi John Hurt and Bob Dylan.
4 January 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back for the new year with the Tattersalls Folk and Roots series at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 11th January 2024 with the support of the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and City of Perth. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has the Front Porch Serenaders and Lukas Drinkwater. Front Porch Serenaders are a folk and country blues trio, who have a long history of playing great music in the Perth music scene featuring Jeff Barham on guitar, Howie Smallman on harmonica and John Wilson on bass. Lukas Drinkwater is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, session musician, composer, recording and live sound engineer from the UK. Lucas was part of the duo Jacob & Drinkwater which played their first gig together at the iconic Glastonbury Festival.

Up and Adam is a local Western Australian Claw hammer banjo player influenced by old time, mountain style, traditional American folk and roots music. The Jukes are a three piece rock and roll band with Steve Toyne on guitar and vocals, Roger Fletcher on bass and backing vocals and Trevor Osborne on drums playing private shows in Perths suburbs.

The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Donna and the Gems doing an EP launch and Steph Cleary. Donna and the Gems are launching their EP ‘Object of Desire’. Donna Iverson is a singer songwriter originally from the Melbourne band scene who is focused on melodically rich storytelling, acoustic folk-rock musings and imaginings. Steph Cleary is an acoustic cover musician based in Perth and is an alternative indie folk singer songwriter. Steph also grew up in Melbourne and is now a part of the Perth music scene, playing at Tradewinds Hotel and La Chiquita Café in Fremantle, Long Neck Brewery on the foreshore and Last Drop Elizabethan up in the hills, and Finlay & Sons Café in Inglewood.

Matt Cal is a hard-working Western Australian folk and roots singer and guitarist who has already achieved multiple nominations for Western Australian Song Of the Year and a win in the Blues and Roots category in 2011 with his track Overdrive and has played many of WA’s best Festivals such as Nannup Music Festival and Blues at Bridgetown. Bev Abela Collective plays a blend of blues and country rock along with some original and contemporary songs. Bev has previously played with the Cat Amongst the Pigeons band fusing voices into soulful harmonies.

For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Silva Dee and Blues Confusion. Silva Dee has been performing solo and in many bands nationally and internationally including the Freo Grasshoppers from 2007 and he has released a number of successful albums. Blues ConFusion was formed in 2013 with Phil Bourgault on guitars and songwriter starting the group. The band has gone through several line-up changes and they play a mix of Phil's original music and interpretations of blues, jazz and rock.
30 September 2022: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with the Tattersalls Folk and Roots series at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 13th October 2022 with the support of the Australian Governments Live Music Australia, Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and City of Perth. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Dave Johnson and the Horry Rockers. Dave Johnson is one of Western Australia’s most accomplished song writers, has performed at most major festivals around Australia and has been billed as one of the headline acts at both Port Fairy and Woodford festivals with his band The Fling. The Horry Rockers are a folk rock band that play a mixture of original and cover songs.
21 April 2024: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 28th April 2024 for a show with free music entertainment with the support of the City of Stirling and Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Derek Lee Goodreid and Gabrielle Campani. Derek Lee Goodreid is a rock/blues artist originating from Perth. Derek has played in Norway at Festivals including the Notodden Blues Festival and has now released a new country folk album ‘Built To Last’. Gabriele Campani is a solo performer from Europe and is an acoustic guitar player, singer, composer and arranger with more than 30 years of professional experience, with a repertoire of blues, jazz, folk, and original compositions.
28 March 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club free music series is back in central Perth at Tattersalls Folk and Roots at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 13th April 2023 with the support of the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and the Australian Governments Live Music Australia. The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth and meals are available for dinner through The Kitchen on Cambridge, the in-house caterer. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Catherine Traicos and Clarksville Five. Catherine Traicos is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter who has graced venues including Nashville's iconic Bluebird Cafe, The Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, the Quarry Amphitheatre in Perth and the Junkyard in Maitland. The Clarksville Five play original songs with a traditional sound with traces of rockabilly, a little country, blues, and soul.
13 May 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 28th May 2023 with free music entertainment with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has John Talati & Adele and John Howard. John Talati is a singer/songwriter who has played the Perth scene for many years and together with Adele he has found a duet to bring together sweet harmonies and energy filled acoustic music. John Howard is a Perth based singer, songwriter who's songs are based on true stories, life experiences and characterisations, all with a strong guitar focus, both acoustic and electric.
1 December 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 17th December 2023 for its Xmas show with free music entertainment with the support of the City of Stirling and Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has the Beige Collective and Paul Davies. The Beige Collective have funk roots from their playing together in the funk outfit Weapons of Mass Satisfaction (WOMS) with Pia Valeen on vocals and saxophone, Richie Poole on vocals, bass and percussion and Micheal Howesmith on vocals, guitar and keyboards. Paul Davies is an authentic, hard travelling musician who travels across regional Western Australia. Pulling fluid blues patterns from his ageing Gibson guitars, Paul plays a range of old time blues to folk and ragtime along with traditional country blues.
1 March 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at Tattersalls Folk and Roots at the Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club on Thursday 9th March 2023 with the Australian Governments Live Music Australia, Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club and City of Perth support. Performances are from 6-9pm at Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club, 2 Plain Street, Perth. For this event, we have Catherine Wheels and Izzy with Catherine Wheels an acoustic trio, consisting of Perth female vocalists, Cathy Mueller and Catherine Cary with Robert Thorpe on guitar. Izzy plays laid back acoustic roots music with a picking style reminiscent of Greenwhich Village folk music and is inspired by Mississippi John Hurt and Bob Dylan.
13 February 2023: Perth Folk and Roots Club is back at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 26th February 2023 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Kyra Bee and the Illegals and Jeremy Boyd. Kyra Bee and the Illegals are a five piece Perth Hills band that were winners of the Blues Challenge heat and runner up in the International Blues Challenge competition held at the Bridgetown Blues Festival in 2016. Jeremy Boyd has recorded Alive and Kicking with a wonderful acoustic version of May You Never by John Martyn with acoustic guitar work a thrill for audiences.
The Perth Folk and Roots Club runs a free monthly event on the fourth Sunday of the month with performances at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. Perth Folk and Roots Club is also running a music series on the second Thursday of the month, Tattersalls Folk and Roots at the Perth Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club. It has also completed a number of music series including Verandah Folk and Roots at the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts and Folk and Roots @ Guildford at the Mechanics Institute Hall in Guildford. The Club is supported by City of Stirling, City of Perth, Town of Victoria Park and City of Swan. Originally the Perth Folk and Roots Club started at the Oxford Hotel in 2012 by former Committee members of the WA Folk Federation in order to expand venues for musicians to perform.
